#Cradley Heath Arts Festival

This is the fifth year of Cradley Heath’s community arts festival! And it’s free.

 
The activity is across four venues in Cradley Heath: Holly Bush Arts Pub, The Art Yard, Cradley Heath Library and Haden Hill Park with art, craft, photography, exhibitions, film, spoken word, music, dance, magic and comedy. There’s a focus on photography with the theme of people and places.

  • Faces and Places Photography Workshop: Inspired by the photos of Magnum photographer, Martin Parr. Discussion and practical activity. Sat 11 May, 11am – 1pm, at The Art Yard.
  • Faces and Places Exhibition: by Magnum photographer Martin Parr and local artists, inspired by people and places in Sandwell. 20 May – 29 June, at The Art Yard.
  • Smart Shorts: Your three minute film made on a mobile. Prizes for the best. Deadline27 May 5pm. ScreeningSat 8 June, 4-6pm, at The Holly Bush Arts Pub.
  • Painting in the Park: open to artists in all art forms as part of MFAA Cradley Heath Green Landscapes project. Free tutorials available during the event. Sat 8 June,10.30am-5pm at Haden Hill Park.
  • Felt Sculpting:with Natalie Brookes at The Art Yard. Sat 8 June 10.30am-3pm.
  • Reading Aloud: Sat 8 June, 12-1.30pm, Cradley Heath Library
  • Knit in Public Day: join the Natty Knitters at Haden Hill House and Sophie Homer at The Holly Bush Arts Pub.
  • Ballet for kids and their adults: Expressive workshop with Elisha Willis former Prima Ballerina with Birmingham Royal Ballet. Sat 8 June, 1-2pm at Elim Pentecostal Church

  • Cradley Heath Arts Festival at the Holly Bush Arts Pub, 
8 June, 11am – 4pm:
    1. Drop in workshops: Pottery, Painting, Stop motion animation, Solar powered photography, Embroidery on Photographs, Event photography. Sat 8 June 12am-4pm at The Holly Bush Arts Pub, Comedy Caravan and Oss Box
    2. Live performance and exhibition: Music, poetry reading, story telling, theatre, comedy, magic. Special Guest, Vicky Roden, with her travelling side show of relics from Sandwell’s Civic collection. Art Auction (donations welcome) and Raffle. Sat 8 June, 4-11pm at the Holly Bush Arts Pub and Comedy Caravan
